NO PRESSURE— JUST SUPPORT

An A-to-Z assessment of your ears, what they hear, and how your brain makes sense of all that sound.

Whether you’ve started to notice changes or just want a clear picture of how things are going, an Ear & Hearing Evaluation is a simple, comfortable way to understand your hearing health and what kinds of support—if any—might be helpful.

EAR & HEARING EVALUATION

WHY HAVE A HEARING CHECK

Hearing tends to shift over time—sometimes in ways that are hard to notice at first. You might catch yourself asking people to repeat things more often, turning up the TV a bit louder, or finding it harder to follow conversations in busy spaces.

And…hearing health supports brain health.

YOUR HEARING, YOUR BRAIN, YOUR WELLBEING

Did you know that your hearing plays an important role in keeping your brain sharp? When hearing starts to decline—even just a little—your brain has to work harder to fill in the gaps. Over time, that extra effort can lead to fatigue, reduced focus, and even impact memory and thinking skills.

The good news? Catching hearing changes early can make a big difference. Addressing even mild hearing loss helps keep your brain engaged, supports better communication, and can improve your overall quality of life.

That’s why we recommend a hearing evaluation at the first signs of change—like needing to turn up the volume, asking people to repeat themselves, or feeling more tired after conversations. And even if everything seems fine, getting checked preventatively every 3–5 years after age 40 is a smart move, just like regular eye or dental exams.

Your hearing health is part of your whole health. Let’s stay on top of it—together.

What Happens During the Evaluation?

Ear and Hearing Evaluations typically take about 60 minutes from start to finish. No need to prepare anything on your end, just come as you are.

  • 1.

A Conversation that Centers Around You

    (Real World Listening Needs Assessment)

We’ll start by chatting about what you’ve noticed, what feels more challenging, and what matters most to you when it comes to hearing and communication. This helps us shape the evaluation around your needs— not just the numbers on a chart.

  • 2.

    A Look Inside Your Ears

    (Otoscopy)

Using a small lighted tool called an otoscope, we’ll gently check your ear canals and eardrums to make sure everything looks healthy and clear. This part is quick, easy, and completely painless.

  • 3.

    A Gentle Pressure Test (Tympanometry)

You’ll feel a small change in pressure in your ear—kind of like taking off in an airplane. This helps us see how your middle ear is functioning, and it only takes a few seconds.

  • 4.

    Listening for Beeps

    (Pure Tone Audiometry)

This is the part most people think of as a “hearing test.” You’ll wear headphones and listen to tones at different volumes and pitches. When you hear one, you press a button or raise your hand. It’s how we figure out the softest sounds you can hear.

  • 5.

    Understanding Words and Sentences

    (Speech Audiometry)

You’ll listen to and repeat some words and sentences—sometimes in quiet, sometimes with background noise. This tells us how clearly you understand speech, which often says more about real-world hearing than tones alone.

  • 6.

    After the Evaluation

Once we’re finished, we’ll go over your results and build out Your Hearing Profile right away—in plain language, at your pace.

If everything looks great, wonderful—we’ll discuss ways to keep it that way! If we notice changes, we’ll talk about what they might mean for you and explore next steps together. That might include strategies to make communication easier, regular check-ins, or technology like hearing aids—if and when it feels right for you.

NO PRESSURE— JUST SUPPORT.

We’re here to give you the full picture, answer your questions, and help you stay connected to the people and experiences you care about most.
