Dr. Tyler Ellis is proud to serve the greater Seattle community—and beyond—through his work at Harmony Audiology. Known for his compassionate, human-centered approach, Dr. Ellis provides expert audiologic care for adults of all ages, as well as adolescents (age 5 and up).
He is especially passionate about helping individuals reconnect—with their loved ones, their communities, and the sounds that bring them joy. Whether it’s managing bothersome tinnitus, addressing sensory processing differences such as hyperacusis and misophonia, or supporting musicians and neurodivergent individuals through complex listening challenges, Dr. Ellis brings deep expertise and thoughtful, individualized care.
At the heart of his work is a commitment to presence, human connection, and empathy. Whether he’s helping someone rediscover a favorite song, improve their communication, or find relief from distressing sound experiences, he offers evidence-based care that is always grounded in each person’s unique needs and goals.
Originally from the Midwest, Dr. Ellis earned his Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Iowa, following undergraduate studies in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Minnesota. He completed his clinical residency (externship) at a large medical practice in Charlotte, North Carolina, before establishing both his personal and professional roots in Seattle.
Dr. Ellis is dedicated to lifelong learning and regularly pursues advanced training and certifications. He holds a Certificate in Tinnitus Management from the American Board of Audiology and has completed Progressive Tinnitus Management training through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He is also a member of the American Academy of Audiology, the Academy of Doctors of Audiology, the Northwest Academy of Audiology, and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Outside of clinic, Dr. Ellis partakes in backyard potlucks, nature walks, sea glass collection, the Seattle Symphony, science fiction or slice-of-life literature, documentaries. On rainier days, he enjoys staying home with his dog, Franklin, and practicing the piano (Chopin and Grieg are favorites). He invites all to check out Rainbow City—a local non-profit organization of performing ensembles that promotes the equity and visibility of musicians in the greater Seattle LGBTQIA+ community.
